Our role, as Christians, is to be witnesses for Jesus Christ - spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and God's love to those who don't know of God's transforming love. We see this charge, in the earliest Christian community, reflected in Acts 1:8… You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. In Evangelism, we share the good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
At Severna Park United Methodist Church, our evangelism efforts entail a few simple but important actions: communicating with our community, inviting you to worship with us and participate in the life and ministry of our church, welcoming you as a fellow worshiper rather than a guest or visitor, thanking you for worshipping with us, and sharing with you how God is transforming lives at Severna Park United Methodist Church.
We have found that we can only spread the good news of Jesus Christ and God's love, by exampling the greatest commandment - love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength, and love your neighbor as yourself.
