SPAN is an ecumenical community
outreach program, supported by churches in the Severna Park area.
SPAN provides food and financial assistance to members of the community
who are in need. SPUMC supports SPAN through both monetary and
food contributions. A portion of SPUMC's mission budget is donated
to support the work of SPAN. Members are also encouraged to
support SPAN through individual cash contributions and through
donations of food. Non-perishable food items may be placed in the wicker
receptacles located near the entrance doors in the portico.
ITEMS NEEDED ON A REGULAR BASIS:
Jelly, Baked Beans, Pork'n Beans, Spaghettios, Canned
Mixed Vegetables,
Cake Mixes, Frosting, Pie Crust Mix, Bisquick, Pancake Mix,
Syrup, Beef Stew and Canned Hams.

HOLIDAY GIVING PROGRAMS
SPAN also
runs three Holiday Giving programs – at Easter, Thanksgiving, and
Christmas – in which needy families can sign up to receive baskets of
food for holiday dinners, gifts at Christmas time, and Easter Baskets
for the children at Easter. Those wishing to contribute to support
families during the special Holiday programs should look in the church
bulletin or Octagon for specific information or call SPAN at
410-647-0889 approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the holiday.
ALL FOODS SHOULD BE NON-PERISHABLE AS SPAN DOES NOT
HAVE STORAGE FOR PERISHABLES.
